Nik Kershaw

Date: 3rd – 4th September
Nik Kershaw has been acclaimed as one of the best songwriters of his generation and is best known for songs “I Won’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, “Wouldn’t It Be Good” and “The Riddle”.
Nik performs some of his best songs and tells stories from his career and takes questions from the audience.
Beckett Trilogy
Venue: MAC, 10 Exchange Street West
Date: 2nd – 6th September
Three classic plays from the master of modern theatre, performed together.
Not I is a monologue, with a single beam of light illuminating a female mouth which delivers a stream of consciousness at the speed of thought.
Footfalls is the story of May, who paces back and forth outside her dying mother’s room.
Rockaby explores loneliness and loss as a woman sits on her rocking chair remembering episodes from her past.
Lisa Dwan is the actress performing this one person trilogy after a very successful run at Royal Court Theatre and in London’s West End.
Belfast Tattoo 2014
Venue: Odyssey Arena, 2 Queen’s Quay
Date: 4th – 6th September
This is to be an annual event and will include military Pipe Bands, Flute Bands, Silver Bands as well as dancers.
Hillsborough International Oyster Festival
Venue: Hillsborough
Date: 2nd – 7th September
Hillsborough International Oyster Festival celebrates its 22nd year with a full programme of activities and entertainment and is expected to attract thousands of visitors.
The village will be closed to traffic and the streets will be filled with stalls, music, family entertainment.
The World Oyster Eating Championship takes place at 3pm on the Saturday afternoon.
There will be great local food and lots of entertainment to suit all ages including:

Belfast City Half Marathon 2014

Bryan Adams – Bare Bones Acoustic Show

Bryan Adams, Canadian singer-songwriter, best known for “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” will perform his highly acclaimed acoustic ‘Bare Bones’ show at the Waterfront.
Culture Night Belfast
Venue: Various
Date: 19th September
Culture Night Belfast will have hundreds of happenings, performances, talks, tours and fun events across the city’s Cathedral Quarter.
In 2013 over 42,000 people aged flocked to the City Centre to take part in this event and 2014 is likely to be better.

Blood Brothers
Venue: Grand Opera House
Date: 16th – 27th September
The long running “Blood Brothers” tells the story of twins who were separated at birth, grew up in different environments and met later with tragic consequences. Familiar hits include Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It’s Not True. Known as Standing Ovation Musical this Willy Russell musical has been performed over 10,000 on the West End.
Cabaret
Venue: MAC, 10 Exchange Street West
Date: 16th – 4th October
This well known and loved Broadway hit musical comes to Belfast. You can book a cabaret style table with waiter service.
